The bottle is unique and beautiful. a nice white floral perfume in a nice bottle that matches the perfume inside with the name of the house cartier on it. I like everything in this composition, except violet and mimosa. I like it very much. A floral bouquet, very intensive. I have a vintage and a new, they are both good. This is 80's floral. Maybe it's the aldehydes. The supporting base notes are classic formulaic notes of sandalwood, patchouli, oak mos and civet. I think Molinard Violette has some of the same level of sweetness and freshness, but it is much more lovely. It seems to start off rather cold and harsh because of the aldehydes bu then it softens and warms up. this was my summer scent since the outside was just oh so hot and muggy. I thought this would be more "dark" or how to say hmm, hevier. It has something unusual. But I couldnât get crazy about the scent. Fingers crossed it goes away or I will be looking to swap my 100 ml bottle. Fragrance Reviews: 1029770 Y by Yves Saint Laurent is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women.Y was launched in 1964. Luca Turin describes it as quintessentially French, as French as Les Parapluies de Cherbourg and Chablis wine, and I agree. Swardspeak uses elements from Tagalog, English, Spanish, and some from Japanese, as well as celebrities' names and trademark brands, giving them new meanings in different contexts. The Carat has very strong and sharp 'pear scent' opening. Longevity is pretty good, it starts off sharp and quite metallic within the first 2 hrs and then dries down soapy after 6 hrs or so and lingers. Carat is much less screechy and never turns soapy as Pleasures does as it dries down. When I first wore it in the '70es, Y was the most sophisticated chypre around. Very good for spring and before going to sleep. The "in between" seasons are what Y was made for. Fresh, sweet, and energizing--and every changing as the hours (and hours and hours!) 1 Appearances 1.1 The Little Mermaid 1.2 The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea 1.3 The Little Mermaid: The Series 1.4 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure 1.5 Disney Parks 2 Gallery 3 Trivia Max is first seen aboard Prince Eric's ship in the opening scene. Honeysuckle and hyacinth with green fresh notes carry this composition to me into an "almost" green apple territory. This is a very unique and interesting perfume. An elegant, exquisite, timeless beauty. Supported by stone fruits and powdery florals that create an impression of sunshine (not of sweetness). My tiny sample from TPC of this classic was supposed to conjure up my mom, as she was in the 60s: a young Foreign Service wife full of energy and excitement who was never going to stop being an American tomboy even as she grew in sophistication. It doesn't last more than a couple of hours on my skin, but is a pleasant choice when looking for a quiet perfume that won't offend people that don't like perfume, if that is at all possible. I am very excited for this launch. YSL's Y is like a chemist gone mad. This is beautiful and hard to wear. I actually have both but of course, Y is a lot more prominent. Like a classy lady on a spring morning. Minus the fruits, it somewhat resembles the opening to Ivoire de Balmain. The fruit makes the difference. After going through a couple samples of this perfume and deciding I enjoyed this very much, I ordered I full bottle and sent one to my BFF for her birthday. It goes on a little 'angry' as most aldehydes do, then settles into an almost delicious composition moving through dry autumn leaves and green grass to the plum note that I love in Rochas Femme. This part does evoke the diamonds in their marketing imagery. One is in my left wrist and one is in right. It's very pretty, ladylike, clean and expensive smelling perfume. I can only assume that this sample, which is not labeled vintage, is not the original juice I remember sneakily putting on from my mom's treasured marble capped bottle inside it's white and gold presentation box. I just want to smell good at home. Its watery fresh yet not overtly floral, nor falling into realm of green. Max is Prince Eric's loyal Old English Sheepdog in Disney's 1989 animated feature film, The Little Mermaid. The Hyacinth Macaw is the largest of the macaw species in the world and they are as affectionate as a human being. I would not ever want to be without it. A loud slap in the face of the hyacinth, kind of turns benzoiny after 10 mins. Depite this, I find myself reaching for it frequently on these hot summer days. This is not the middle of the road in a bottle. As missmary,I don’t like aldehydes and I don’t understand chypres too, I find this kind of fragrances too much serious, austere and bitter. My Love. I tested this in a dept store and thought I liked it so I got a couple of samples. In the past 4 or 5 hours I've applied a significant amount of my miniature because I can't get enough of the scent. The hyacinth and violet are quite modern here because of the combination with the musk and I love it. It seems as if I have found my perfumed Holy Grail:Gosh, what a achingly beautiful scent!! It can be worn by young or mature. Dry humor, with a warm laughter. Today my full bottle arrived. I have been wearing Cartier fragrances since Must de Cartier came out. But a sample of Baiser Vole made me crazy about the creations of the brilliant Mathilde. Y makes me realize that owning a vast array of fragrances that smell amazing is very nice but to focus on those to which I have an emotional connection is priceless. They nailed the "prismatic" effect here, it smells effervescent, crystalline and boyant. I'm still finding it a bit too synthetic and perhaps green for me.
